We have seen the different ways of creating multiple subplots. You can locate the subplots where you want in rows and columns. In the following example, you can find the three ways to create variable grid spec multiple subplots. Multiple Subplots with Variable Grid Specs To avoid a confusion when you make multiple subplots, I recommend to use OO style creation.ī. The OO style codes use plt.subplots(), fig.add_subplot() and fig.add_axes() methods, while MATLAB style codes use plt.subplot(). I will compare the MATLAB style codes and OO style codes of creating multiple subplots here. In this post I will introduce the way of creating multiple subplots. In the previous post, I explained the basic objects of object-oriented APIs and showed how to create subplots by using several methods. Syntax: (leftNone, bottomNone, rightNone, topNone, wspaceNone, hspaceNone) Parameters: This method accept the following parameters that are described below: left : This parameter is the left side of. The GridSpec from the gridspec module is used to adjust the geometry of the Subplot grid. The subplotsadjust () function in pyplot module of matplotlib library is used to tune the subplot layout. The main references are come from the official matplotlib website, “” and the book, 『Python Data Science Handbook: Essential Tools for Working with Data, Jake VanderPlas, O’REILLY, 2017』. Create Different Subplot Sizes in Matplotlib using Gridspec. That explains why we should use that way and how to code like that. After this, each subaxes is accessed as mp0, mp1, and so on. If the number of subaxes is smaller than nrowsncols, you explicitly set it with npane. You set number of rows and columns for your subaxes grid. In the above syntax the following parameters are used which are outlined below: left: specifies the left position of the subplots of the figure. F.addsubplot(mp) In the above example, MultiPaneSubplot is a subclass of the Subplot which contains subaxes. I would like to post a series of articles about object-oriented way of using matplotlib. The subplotsadjust () is a function in matplotib library, which is used to adjust or refine the subplot structure or design. ![]() Object-oriented way of using matplotlib – 6.Object-oriented way of using matplotlib – 5. ![]() ![]() Object-oriented way of using matplotlib – 4.Object-oriented way of using matplotlib – 3.Object-oriented way of using matplotlib – 2.Object-oriented way of using matplotlib – 1. ![]()
